If Darth Vader showed up at your 5-year-old self?s birthday party, what would you do? Pull out your trusty light saber, of course.
This is exactly what?Aiden Whyte did, but he soon found out it wasn?t an enemy inside the black cape and behind the hooded mask.
The Military Times reports?Boatswain?s Mate 1st Class (SW) Justin Whyte?had been away from his family for months,?but when it became apparent he could come home for a few days for his son?s birthday party, his wife set to scheming. Susie Whyte told the Times she enjoys putting together surprises.
After giving Vader a good run with his light saber, mom says Aiden should take off the?villain?s?mask. At this point, the Aiden and his sister, dressed as?Princess Leia, tackle Justin with hugs.
Watch the heartfelt surprise for yourself:
The video was taken at the party in May, but was posted last week on the Welcome Home Blog. On the blog, Susie stated that Justin had been away for three months prior to this surprise.
The Times states that Justin is now?deployed?in the?United Arab Emirates with Coastal Riverine Squadron 11 and is expected to return home soon.
